It’s been a hectic month. I’ll admit that February is my least favorite month of the year. It’s the shortest, yes, but feels like the longest. It bridges winter to spring here in Central Illinois, and the weather is unpredictable and usually grey. And, that is just plain depressing. I see that many customers share my dislike for February. Moods are not as upbeat (unless you’re one of the lucky ones who gets “out” and warms up under sunny Southern skies!)
So, this year, I’ve done quite a bit of sewing. I finished a baby quilt, finished my Modern Mystery Quilt (separate entry on this after my DH & I stand out in the snow to take its photo), made some totes, sewed some samples for the store, and did some other embroidery (not shown) for my son’s wedding later this summer. I thought I’d share, so you knew I wasn’t sloughing off with the blog entries. Be sure to zoom in on the Science Fair quilt to fully appreciate Betty’s quilting. She is just fantastic on her Baby Lock Jewel long-arm quilter!
Thankfully, we’ve had some delightful March sunshine already, and today is no exception. Maybe spring is here at last. I know things are looking up when my favorite ice cream shop, Gene’s, opens up and the friendly staff has our 2 medium chocolate cones waiting for us at the window when we walk up (they see our car and we’re regulars!)
P.S. I love my new Unity sewing and embroidery machine!
